Season 1 complete, expecting season 2.

What could be more epic than a fanatic god-defying lolicon WWI lieutenant, warring
to protect the German Reich? Tanya Degurechaff is the name of our protagonist. This
alternate history WWI anime combines funny cute lolicon aspects with the epic narrative
of struggle to save the Imperial fatherland! This new anime had its premiere on January 6,
2017 and, I believe, promises to be much better than Girl und Panzer.

Initially a light novel series, it could be completely adapted to both manga and anime
in the future. I doubt not that its success of popularity will be powerful. Please watch
and spread the word about this anime, it deserves it.

Anne Frank Diary Fraud Finally AdmittedSo, finally they admitted the long time fraud publicly. Anne Frank's diary was co-authored
by her father and thus the credibility of the book finally comes to an end.
The Basel, Switzerland, Anne Frank Fonds (Anne Frank Fund), which controls the copyright
to the Diary of Anne Frank, has admitted that the book was in fact at least co-authored by
Otto Frank, Anne’s father, after the war.
The admission proves that the book, which is still heavily promoted as a "holocaust memoir",
is in fact largely a postwar fabrication which contained parts of the young Anne’s diary with
extensive additions added by her father. This is obvious from even a cursory look at the actual
diary. See, for example, the image below of two pages from the diary, which shows both Anne’s
real youthful handwriting and her father’s obviously adult handwriting, although he signs his
entries as “Anne Frank.”

I'm happy you like it. I found it personally very amazing.
It seems Japanese light novel/manga/anime producers
are starting to ditch political correctness.

Eh, why not. I get the feeling that Japanese producers all get together, throw a bunch of ideas into a hat, and pull out three ideas and *BAM* new anime idea! I personally love the old anime of the 80's. Sexist, gory, and totally pointless beautiful animation is what making cartoons is all about!

Well it seems that all the rage in japanimation is making anime adaptions of lightnovels. Light novels are aimed at teenage audiences so usually involve young characters from 14-18. The reason for this is max profit as even others are criticizing that its always a light novel getting an anime adaption. These are made for a quick cash grab. The other problem is if there is one you do like it will either never get a second season or it will come years later like Attack on Titian. There's lot of shit I've watched in the past that I know is never going to get a second season despite the fact the anime adapts only part of the story and ends with the ability to continue with another season.

Indeed. There almost all animes are light novel
adaptation, first in actual manga, then animated.
The target public is certainly quiet young. Often
that is a shame since the best animes are those
with profound scenarios, destined to an older public.

I had already told you some animes that I watched
and considered good, but I forgot to mention
Fate Zero, the Ghibli movies, Higurashi, Code Geass,
Death Note, Saishū heiki kanojo, Monster was good
until I was disappointed by the end, I expected so
much more of this manga. The drawings of Satoshi
Urushihara are amazing, even tho quiet often erotic.
His old school style and masterful drawing skills
clearly demonstrates that the new Moe style, is cute,
but it still the cancer of manga drawings.
This should complete a bit more your general picture
of what "animus" I have watched in the past.

As for Youjo Senki, I believe it is not overstated to
say it was the best newcomer series of that period
and will probably receive a second season, at least.

Yeah part pf the problem is when they do it for these ln they only make one dman season too. So for instance if one you like is in fact made into an anime you know that it's not getting a second season. Two animes that come to mind are "Good luck Girl" and "Watamote". Two anime I watched in the past and they acknowledged that they were look forward to a second season yet they still have not. One doesn't even have an excuse as the manga itself is completed and finished. Part of the problem is a mixture of the animators being poorly treated and paid. That for their product the animators that bring these works to life are not being paid a fair amount so its hard for animes to get more than one season. The other reason is its just typical market ploys. You shit out a one season anime, make money off of it and that's the end.

Yojo senki review below. Spoilers below in case other people read this shit.

As for Yojo Senki that is probably going to get a second season. Yojo Senki was one of the more popular brands this winter season along with that Dragon Maid anime. I think part of the charm that Yojo Senki has is its characters. You're not supposed to like them the MC especially since she's a sociopathic loli with the mind of an adult. However that's part of the charm, she's totally different from the other MCs we have gotten recently in anime. She's not some highschool kid, or a magical girl out to save the world. She in fact something rare for anime which is the anti-villain. She's hardly in it for selfless reasons or to protect others. In fact its just the opposite as we see her not only kill other soldiers like she is supposed to but she also has fired on psuedo-innocents and innocents such as the Dacians (Romanians) who were in that factory she and her platoon bombarded or that arc that was meant to represent the warsaw uprising where she bombarded the fleeing citizens as per her orders. Or the fact that she is very vengeful and spiteful human who is at odds with what we are assuming is the Abrahamic god and she herself is called devil of the Rhine or a devil by other characters, creating her archetype as devil foil to being X.

However we still end up rooting for either just because its her story that we are following or its interesting to see the villain as the protagonist for once. Even though not explicitly named Tanya herself and the medium makes it clear she is living in Victorian early 20th century German Empire and she is fighting on the side of the Central powers or Axis (either could work as they seem to have combined the two world wars into one mega war). Perhaps part of it is because what she says is true. Part of the back and forth I enjoyed in the story was between her and Erich one of her bigger opponents in the military. In the final episode of the anime she is talking to him about human nature and how humans are prone to stupid things. She and Erich have this short back and forth where he takes the side that humans are intelligent emotional beings and rational while Tanya disagrees and tends to view humans as irrational creatures who are hardly different than animals.

However she is right as the Empire being to drunk on their victory and being too compassion allow the Frenchies to escape to their colonies like in our timeline and create the Free France resistant movement. That if the Empire had listened to Tanya then if not ending the war there would have at least kept France out of it. She was also right in her thinking of destroying enemies brutally as those survivors of this world's Warsaw uprising would have become her enemy as the daughter of that Norwegian she killed eventually joins up with the Americans to try and kill Tanya due to her killing her father. Maybe that's why its refreshing as it doesn't attempt to pretend there's a good side and bad side and instead just shows war and if there is a good side Tanya probably isn't on it. There's more I could go on about but I'll end it here for now.

Well technically speaking if you have an anime concept
that works, I don't really see how changing series
would change anything to either animators' salaries,
or financial income of the product.

It is true that Tanya's originality in personality has
contributed greatly to the success of the series. The
other factor I would say, is that people wish to see
an alternate point of view of a supposed first and
second world war. It is intriguing to say the least.
As for God being the Abrahamic one, this characteristic
is slightly different in the drawn manga, as it is not
only the Abrahamic God which plots, but all the others
also, namely Indian Gods also appeared to Tanya in
the manga. On the other hand the manga features
much more explicit National Socialist characteristics,
and sometimes even Swastika shaped magical
manifestations during some of her attacks. Yet we
wonder, if these attacks may make Swastika shapes
and this power is provided by the Abrahamic God,
does that imply that National Socialism is led by God?
At the same time Tanya fights against all the Gods
in existence, does it means that her doctrine,
presumably National Socialism is in fact Atheistic?
This ambiguity really makes one desirable to discover
what the author truly means. As a further spoiler
note, there are mentions of a literal "Red Army",
from which Tanya's first lieutenant's family ran from,
are indicators, if we base ourselves on real historical
facts, that there will be harsh bloody struggles
fought on the Eastern lines. Both the first and the
second world war are clearly combined as one in this
story line. Certainly the series manages to demonstrates
both sides of the great war as being neither good of
evil. It shows the power struggles with more rationality
than one would expect from a cartoon. Who is worse,
the German empire or its enemies? Tanya, or God?

Well in the anime reviewers pointed out that crosses appear several times so I guess that was a censorship however it may relate more to their personalities. Tanya seems to be a mixture of young Corporal Hitler and Barron Von Richthofen the Red Barron. The Hitler part due to her referencing fascism several time over the course of her story and seeking political power in her nation at all cost but she is an excellent mage {see pilot} like the Red Barron. As for the revelation you gave me this might be a reference to Nietzsche. The philosopher Nietzsche from the late 19th century was very influential on several 20th century ideals, among them your fascism. In Nietzsche's writing he calls himself an amoralist and talks about concepts such as slave and master mentalities. To cut it short he was famous for his outspoken atheism, especially for a time when moralism was still high with quotes such as "god is dead and we have killed him" He view and predicted correctly that religion as a whole was dying in the Western world and that lead to nihilism or a feeling of nothingness. Personally he felt that Christianity as a whole weakened the West and made it morally degenerate. However he also argued that in its place would come the concept of the ubermensch or the super human who would create their own purpose and path to life which would replace religion and the nihilism it's absence caused.

This seems to be the philosophy of Tanya. She is an unrepentant anti-theist. She may have been an atheist in her first life but after seeing Being X or god or the gods for herself she seems to take an anti-theist approach or a direct defiance to the gods. We can that with her trying to trump being X at any possible turn. We get this in its full at the end of season one where she tells her troops that god is dead and it is proof there is no god but instead the future belongs to the humans like them and they will craft it with their own hands. That sounds a lot like what Nietzsche would describe as the ubermensch. It is also interesting to have this in that particular timeline as during this time the world was still highly religious and was an important part of people's lives. The only know open atheist or secularist were communists however Yojo Senki is based around the Germany of WW1 and 2. However we can see that Hitler had similar views to a degree as well as fascists. Mussolini himself described himself as being incredibly anti-clerical and the Church as being in the way of the state. Hitler had similar opinions and went a step further calling his National Socialism a religion or way of life itself. Hitler did have an openly atheist platform or policy like Stalin seeing the cultural whip-lash it caused in the Soviet Union. However he did talk about the Church struggle/question and what to do with it which lead to the nationalization of churches and also a splinter faction called postie Christianity with the purpose of distorting parts of the bible, especially the Jewish parts, and making it more palatable to National Socialism though he would have preferred according to some private thoughts of his if people would create their devotion to the state rather than to objective gods.

Now will Tanya try something like that and one of her plots against being X to corrupt his own religion on this Earth she is placed upon? Who knows? But the ideal she seems to be based on does have an aversion to faith or religion to begin with. Another thing to point out is there exists many segments of Nazis who are neo-pagan and into the occult and runes. This has caused some to view the Nazis as some weird pagan occult and at times Satanic. Perhaps that would also play a part?

Though perhaps that is why Tanya is interesting. Her main enemy is god and several times she is called a devil shedding her in a more anti-Christ kind of light. She is a character directly opposed to god but that is one of the draws since she is fighting against the universe itself and remains defiant. It also is refreshing like as you said, it is different then what we usually watch. Stories are often told by the POV of the heroes or in the wars the allies. I doubt the manga and anime would be as popular if Tanya was fighting for say the French or the British in this war. However the story does treat both sides as equals. The soldiers in the Empire itself are hardly evil or bad. Most of them are average citizens who joined up since they felt it was their duty and the military staff is also not overtly evil. Then we have Anson Sioux the Norwegian. He was our perspective from the Allied side and he's not evil either, in fact we see he has a wife and daughter which is done on purpose to humanize him. What Yojo Senki did was interesting as it created a story without the absolute morals we are used too and allows you to root for the side you'd like to see win since it is just total war.
